Binaria de Rayos X
Las binarias de rayos x son una clase de sistema binario que son muy luminosos en rayos x (1033 - 1039erg/s). Están formados por un objeto compacto que se ha formado por colapso de una estrella, y una estrella convencional, de la secuencia principal. El objeto compacto puede ser una estrella de neutrones o un agujero negro. Ambos tienen masas mayores a la del Sol, pero concentradas en un volumen mucho menor. La estrella convencional se suele llamar estrella compañera.
